Network marketing has existed for a lot longer than most people realize. It’s been about sixty five years since the first company started which is now known as Amway (used to be called Nutrilite). You should make certain that whatever you choose it is a company that you can put your heart and soul into and build it for five to ten years. Mark Yarnell said in his book, “My First Year of Network Marketing” that 90% of people who choose a good company and work it for ten years end up becoming wealthy. The problem is most networkers quit within six months.
Can you imagine buying a McDonald’s and then three or six month later deciding to quit? That would be stupid, right? Then why do people do it in network marketing? Network marketing is a viable business model and should be treated like a REAL business.
Okay, so let’s assume you are going to take your time and pick a network marketing company where you will be committed long term. What should you look for?
Here are a few tips when choosing the best network marketing company:
1. You need to choose a company that is at least five years old. There is a very high percentage of companies that go out of business within their first five years. It isn’t worth the risk. People who tell you that the only way to make money in MLM is to join at the very beginning are retarded and are probably promoting a ponzi scheme. Don’t let them fool you. Any good opportunity will only get better over time.
2. Meet the management and make sure they are honest and integral. If you build a business where the people who own and run it do not have the same values as you then you are building your house on sand. It is very important that you choose a business that you will not be ashamed to recommend to your closest friends or family members.
3. Make sure the company produces highly innovative products. Without innovation your company is dead. The sad thing is that most mlm companies don’t have innovative products and the only reason they are growing is because of the opportunity (which means they are really a ponzi scheme). The products are EVERYTHING! You want to market products people truly want!
Using these tips you will pick a good network marketing company. You are probably wondering, “well, what about all the other things like compensation plans?” Well, to be honest, compensation plans aren’t nearly as important as most people make them seem. What good is it to have the best compensation plan but not have an innovative product that people truly want which creates volume you get paid on?
Most companies nowadays have decent compensation plans so don’t fall prey into the game of choosing to join a company based on the comp plan.
